India News : Ganga and Yamuna threaten to inundate localities once again

India News : Allahabad: There is no ending to woes of people residing in the lower reaches of Ganga and Yamuna this monsoon. Both rivers have continued to wreak havoc for the last one month. Its unending dilemma for those living in relief camps as in the last fortnight they have thrice returned to the camp after both rivers subsided only to rise again. The district authorities too are facing the same situation owing to the unpredictable nature of the two rivers.

Harihar Joshi of Om Gayatri Nagar said "we spent several nights under the open sky on rooftops. We only had polythene to brave the rains. Relief arrived only after we shifted to relief camp and returned to our house once water receded.
