India News : South Gujarat reels under Narmada flood water

India News : Bharuch: Authorities in the districts of Bharuch , Narmada and Vadodara have shifted over 8,200 people to safer locations after water from the swollen Narmada entered over 49 villages in the three districts on Saturday.

The river's level rose owing to heavy rainfall over the past two days in catchment areas in Madhya Pradesh. The Narmada is flowing at the 131-metre mark, almost 9 metres above the Sardar Sarovar Dam's peak level. The water inflow at Sardar Sarovar Dam was recorded at 14.5 lakh cusecs against an outflow of 13.5 lakh cusecs, dam site
