Army Chief General V K Singh has now broken his silence over the Supreme Court ruling on his legal battle with the Defence Ministry over his date of birth. Expressing disappointment, Gen Singh said the apex court has not effectively closed the issue. In an interview to the Outlook magazine, he also blamed the media for interpreting the court verdict as a defeat for him. He reminded that being the chief of the army does not insulate him from public opinion. he was aware that taking the MoD to court was seen as some as a bad move. But justifying his stand on the age row, he said that he needed to stand up for what was correct.
