BMC poll results to be announced today-NewsX

Maharashtra civic polls and Mumbai's BMC poll results are expected to be out today. Mumbai's poll percentage has been revised to 46 percent from the earlier estimate of less than 30. However, that still means that more than half the city's voters did not bother to exercise their franchise. Given that the Mumbai civic body is the most cash rich civic body with an annual budget of Rs 22,000 crore, a lot of interest is generated in which way its results are headed. But the voters' apathy makes one wonder if this is disillusionment with the Shiv-sen and BJP combine that has ruled the BMC for 16 years or people just do not care anymore?
