Iran's N-gambit: US wants Iran evicted from SWIFT-NewsX

The Obama administration in the U.S is downplaying Wednesday's announcements by Iran that it has a new generation of centrifuges to speed up uranium enrichment. Iran dared the Non-Proliferation lobby by broadcasting images of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad watching what it said were 20 percent enriched uranium fuel rods being loaded into an aging reactor that produces nuclear isotopes. The U.S wants Iran evicted from oil payment clearinghouse and is also mulling removal of Iran from SWIFT. Now SWIFT is used as transaction clearinghouse for oil payments and removal from there will stall Iran's revenues on account of oil. U.S lawmakers are putting pressure of SWIFT directors If Iran is removed from that, it would cripple key finance lifeline and the move could also spike world oil prices.
