India News: Raza Murad praises Shivraj Chauhan for wearing skull cap

Bhopal: Actor Raza Murad on Friday took a jibe at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and praised his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his spirit of secularism by wearing a skull cap during Eid

celebrations.

The actor said many chief ministers need to learn from Shivraj Chouhan that wearing a cap does not affect one's religion. "By participating in someone's festivities, your religion would not be corrupted. Shivraj is no less

popular than any other chief minister but he comes here and wishes us Eid Mubarak every year and wears the topi. Wearing the topi is good but forcing someone else to wear it is wrong,' he said.
Modi had refused to wear the skull during his three-day 'Sadbhavana' fast in Ahmedabad in 2011. Sayed Imam Shahi Saiyed had offered Modi a skull cap, but the CM had politely refused to wear it and asked him to offer

a shawl instead. The imam did so and Modi was seen accepting it. "Modi's refusal to accept the cap is not my insult but an insult to Islam," Saiyed had said.
