Uttarakhand: Almora SDM swept away by Mandakini river

India News: More than a month after massive floods and landslides devastated Kedarnath, the ravaging Mandikini river claimed the life of a Uttarakhand government official who was part of a 63-member team to oversee clean-up operations in the temple town. Sub-divisional magistrate of Almora, Ajay Arora, was swept away on Wednesday by the turbulent currents of the river after falling from a make-shift wooden bridge.
