Mumbai hit-and-run case: SC cancels Pareira's bail, set to surrender

The Supreme Court today cancelled the bail of Mumbai businessman Alistair Anthony Pareira and upheld the Bombay High Court's verdict of a three-year sentence. Mr Pareira, who has been out on bail since 2007 now has to surrender.While driving allegedly under the influence of alcohol in the wee hours on November 12, 2006 in suburban Mumbai, Mr Pareira had lost control of his car and killed seven construction workers, who were sleeping on the road divider and injured eight others.
