Proposal to rename Chandni Chowk Road after Tendulkar

Renaming seems to be the political flavour of the season. If its the TMC and Indira Bhavan in Kolkata, then in Delhi it is the BJP and Chandni Chowk.A BJP councillor from the area wants Chandni Chowk Road rechristened Sachin Tendulkar Road. She was keen on renaming the stretch between Red Fort to Fatehpuri Masjid after the legendary cricketer, citing her respect for Sachin as the reason.The naming committee headed by Delhi Mayor Rajni Abbi will consider the proposal in a meeting on Friday.
