Manipur to receive food relief soon

There is some hope for Manipur after a 10 day blockade has severely hampered normal life in the state. The Manipur government sent around 1,900 vehicles with police escort to Silchar in Assam. The state is facing an acute shortage of foodgrains and petrol since August 21st due to the blockade. The vehicles will reach Silchar with the essential items in next two days. Manipur is desperately waiting for supplies of fuel and essential commudities. NewsX's Shivpujan Jha has spoken exclusively to the state's Food and Civil Supplies Minister Biren Singh. He's assured everyone that ample supplies will be reaching the state capital Imphal later today.
