India News : Uttarakhand assembly speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal on Saturday triggered a fresh controversy by stating that the number of the dead post-disaster could cross the 10,000 mark.

The official figures projected by the state government, however, put the death count at 1,000.

Kunjwal made his observation following the feedback he reportedly got during and after his visit to the rain-hit locals.
