India News : It is estimated that 3,500 people are waiting to be evacuated from Badrinath. Most of them are staying in army camps, with access to food and water. Nearly 500 are stuck in Harsil. Yesterday, the Army evacuated nearly 2,500 stranded persons from Badrinath. From the Harsil area, 600 persons were evacuated. Landslides and floods have flattened many towns in Uttarakhand, roads have been washed away and communication links have been snapped in the state.
