Sikkim quake: Death toll rises to 71

Battling landslides and torrential rains in quake-hit Sikkim, rescue teams got into full swing through out Monday even as the death toll in the 6.9 magnitude temblor mounted to 71. The death toll may go up, the Union Home Secretary R K Singh has warned as villages remain cut off with roads destroyed houses collapsed and the debris and obstacles in the path making it difficult for rescue teams to reach all villages.
