Stop work at Koodankulam nuke plant, say TN villagers

The Koodankulam nuclear power plant site is escalating into a major controversy. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to immediately stop all work at the controversial site. The villager's are protest against the construction of the two 1,000-MW unit nuclear reactors. As protests the protests entered the tenth day, villagers and fishermen congregated at the site. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has promised the chief minister Jayalalithaa that he will depute Minister of State in the PMO V Narayanaswamy to discuss the issue.
