Spot-fixing scandal: Tightening its noose over tainted Rajasthan Royals' player Ajit Chandila in the spot-fixing case, Delhi Police on Thursday said he was given Rs 12 lakh by bookie Sunil Bhatia for fixing IPL 5 matches that the spinner failed to deliver and was asked to return the money.

Delhi Police also said that the Faridabad based cricketer returned Rs 4 lakh while cheques for remaining amount bounced during the previous IPL season.

When he was not included in the Rajasthan Royal team after the May 9 IPL match, a drunk Sreesanth fought with coach, police sources said.

Earlier in the day, Mumbai Crime Branch has asked the CEO of Chennai Super Kings Gurunath Meiyappan to appear before it on Friday in connection with the IPL betting scandal.
