Coal scam: Govt doctored CBI report to Supreme Court?

India News: Giving another evidence that the government controls the CBI, it has been revealed that Law Minister Ashwani Kumar and Prime Minister's Office officials vetted the coal scam report of CBI, submitted to the Supreme Court.Despite several instances on interference, both the agency and the UPA have repeatedly claimed that the CBI is completely independent when investigating politically sensitive cases.
According a report in The Indian Express, senior CBI officials were summoned by the law minister days before the status report was filed. During the meeting, also attended by some officials of the law ministry, several amendments in the status report were suggested and some also incorporated by the CBI.
