A supreme court committee has found glaring problems with the public distribution system. It has called a total overhaul of the system. In particular calling for privately owned fair price shops to be nationalised.
SC Panel headed by retd apex court Justice Wadhwa has confirmed what was already known saying the Fair Price Shops in the Public Distribution Sytem are 'epicenters of corruption. It also says everyone from the prime minister down the line is seized of the need for revamping, overhauling or restructuring the PDS. To revamp the system drastic steps are required to be taken.
