Parliament continues to be deadlocked over the promotions quota bill. Rajya Sabha will vote on whether there should be reservations in promotions in government jobs for Dalits and tribals. But this morning SP MPs continued to protest against the quota bill and shouted slogans in the Lok Sabha. Congress as well as BJP has issued a whip to their respective MPs in the Rajya Sabha to vote in favour of the promotion quota bill. The BJP has dubbed Mulayam Singh Yadav's threat of reviewing support as "mere political posturing". The party is reportedly willing to support the legislation with some amendments.
