Will Smith Is Not Returning for 'Suicide Squad' Sequel Actor Will Smith has reportedly
dropped out of the ‘Suicide Squad’
sequel, slated for release on
August 6, 2021. He ultimately couldn’t commit
to the film because of scheduling issues. Smith wasn’t officially signed for the sequel,
but the studio had hoped for his return alongside
other big name stars like Margot Robbie. It’s unconfirmed whether Robbie will
continue her iconic role as Harley Quinn,
or Viola Davis as Amanda Walker. The ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel will
feature an almost entirely new cast,
as new director James Gunn
relaunches the franchise. ‘Suicide Squad’ was released in 2016
and made $745 million globally. More information about the sequel is predicted
to drop soon, as production is scheduled to start
in September 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.
