Russian company unveils Kalashnikov 'suicide' drones

MOSCOW — Kalashnikov, the company behind the AK-47, has created a new kind of drone.
The drone, called KYB-UAV, is 4-feet wide, according to Intelligent Aerospace. Citing a Russian language Kalashnikov news release, the Washington Post reports that the device can fly at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour for 30 minutes.
The drone can also carry a payload of explosives weighing up to 3 kg of while flying. Intelligent Aerospace reports that the device can be sent to its target via payload targeting image or by manually inputting the coordinates.
The National Interest also quotes a Kalashnikov news release as saying that the drone, "is designed to destroy remote ground targets".
The Russian-made drone would be low-priced and widely available, The Washington Post reports.
The drone was shown last week at the 2019 International Defence Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi.
