Great-grandmother fires at man trying to break into her house

JACKSON COUNTY, GEORGIA — A 79-year-old woman in Georgia noticed a home intruder and decided to exercise her Second Amendment rights.

Gwendolyn Agard was at home when she heard a burglar entering her house by shattering the glass on the second floor.

According to WSB-TV Atlanta, Agard immediately grabbed her gun and called 911. She then started yelling at the man and firing shots at him.

The 79-year-old told WSB-TV she yelled an expletive at the guy, and said quote, "I'm going to blow your damn brains out." Agard said she missed but she ended up frightening the guy.

The intruder was believed to have hidden in the bedroom closet on the second floor till the police arrived, WSB-TV reports.

The 79-year-old told the TV station she was trembling and asked the Lord to have mercy on her, while yelling expletives at the same time.

WSB-TV has named the suspect as Hans Rogers, a 20-year-old man, who now faces charges of home invasion.
