Supporting Actress at 2019 Oscars King played the character of Sharon
Rivers in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk.’ She beat out Amy Adams,
Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and
Marina de Tavira for the award. This is King’s first ever
nomination at the Academy Awards. She has won a total of 35 awards for
her role in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk.’ Among those was best performance
by an actress in a supporting role
at the 76th Golden Globes. ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ was written and directed by Barry Jenkins. The movie is nominated for two
other Oscars including best original
music score and best adapted screenplay.
