Despite losing to Hillary Clinton in 2016, Sanders has since emerged as one of the nation's most recognizable and respected senators. In just the last year, he pressured Amazon into raising its
minimum wage to $15 an hour and worked with Republicans on calling for an end to America's role
in the war in Yemen. His proposals such as medicare-for-all have been adopted by many in the Democratic party, including by some who have declared their own presidential
candidacies in 2020.
