Slight ripple on sand dunes in Sahara creates miniature avalanche
- 5 years ago
This was the strangely beguiling moment a ripple on sand dunes in the Sahara desert in Morocco caused a cascade of sand, giving a visually gratifying effect.
Shot earlier this month (February 7) near the Moroccan border with Algeria, sand cascades up and down the dune after being tampered with.
The filmer explained: "My wife and I were on holiday and had been camping in the Sahara that week.
"We were taking a lunch break from a camelback trek we were on and when I stepped off the camel onto this dune, the sand just kept falling.
"I found it so satisfying to watch and I eventually grabbed my camera to film how beautiful it was."
