The score was tied at 61 with under 9 minutes remaining in the third quarter, but the Heat used a 15-2 run to go up by 13 with a little over 4 minutes left in the period. Miami outscored Dallas 32-16 in the third stanza and took an 89-74 lead into the fourth as they went on to defeat the Mavericks 112-101 Wednesday night. Mavericks rookie Luka Dončić finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 18 points, a career-high-tying (game-high) 12 rebounds and a game-high nine assists. Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr., whose father Tim Hardaway Sr. played for both Miami and Dallas, totaled a team-high 20 points in 30 minutes. Hardaway has now scored 20-plus points in two of his last three games.
