Grocery shoppers in Turkey looking for a bargain are now able to buy vegetables at unbeatable prices from an unexpected source: the local government. Turkish authorities have started setting up their own vegetable stands in a bid to force markets to lower food prices as the country struggles with persistently high inflation. But the country's opposition accuses the government of attempting to curry favour ahead of local elections next month.
