Trump hints at extending trade war truce

At a cabinet meeting in the White House on February 12, 2019,
US president Donald Trump said he may not stick to the March 1 deadline for trade negotiations with China if both sides are close to making a deal.
The latest round of US-China trade talks is about to start with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin arriving in Beijing on February 12 for high-level trade negotiations on February 14-15.
