Trump Takes Credit For 'Great' Economy, Says Obama Policies Would Have Led To Depression

President Trump on Saturday took another jab at former President Obama.

President Trump on Saturday slammed former President Obama while taking credit for the recent economic growth in the U.S.
"We have a great economy DESPITE the Obama Administration and all of its job killing Regulations and Roadblocks," Trump tweeted. "If that thinking prevailed in the 2016 Election, the U.S. would be in a Depression right now! We were heading down, and don't let the Democrats sound bites fool you!"
Last month, in another tweet on U.S. economy, Trump asserted it would have been "so easy" for him if interest rates were lower during his presidency.
"Economic numbers looking REALLY good. Can you imagine if I had long term ZERO interest rates to play with like the past administration, rather than the rapidly raised normalized rates we have today. That would have been SO EASY! Still, markets up BIG since 2016 Election!" Trump tweeted.
It's not unusual for Trump to claim credit for the nation's currently strong economy, and that has been noted by his predecessor.  Obama said at a campaign event in September: "When you hear these folks bragging about this 'economic miracle,' just remember when it started."  "When you hear about this economic miracle that's been going on, when the job numbers come out, monthly job numbers, suddenly Republicans are saying it's a miracle," Obama also noted. "I have to kind of remind them, actually, those job numbers are the same as they were in 2015 and 2016."
