President Trump has slammed the Democrats for being "vicious" during acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker's appearance before the House Judiciary Committee Friday.
Trump tweeted Saturday: "The Democrats in Congress yesterday were vicious and totally showed their cards for everyone to see. When the Republicans had the Majority they never acted with such hatred and scorn! The Dems are trying to win an election in 2020 that they know they cannot legitimately win!"
Whitaker's testimony has been described as contentious, especially with Democratic lawmakers who asked him about his character, his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation, and his interactions with the president.
