On Lake Victoria, hyacinth spreads across Africa's blue heart

Kenyan fishermen in the Lake Victoria region are seeing a decrease in the size of their catches. One reason for this is the invasion of a thick green carpet of water hyacinth in Kisumu bay. This vegetation is blocking Kenya's main entry to Africa's largest lake, hitting the local economy hard as fishermen struggle to get out on the water.
