Ghost in girl's apartment turns out to be creeper in the closet

GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA — WFMY reports that a student from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro found a man hiding in her closet, wearing her clothes.

The student, identified only as Maddie, told Fox 8 she noticed clothes going missing, and saw handprints left on the bathroom wall. The running joke with her roommate was that they had a ghost in the house.

Turns out it was way worse.

On Saturday, Maddie began hearing rattling in the closet that sounded like there was a raccoon inside. She went to the closet door and asked "Who's in there?", only to be gobsmacked when a guy named Drew answered back.

According to WFMY, Maddie tried to make an emergency call on her Apple Watch but failed. She eventually opened the door and found the dude sitting on the floor in her clothes. He even had a book bag filled with her stuff.

Maddie talked to the guy to keep him distracted while texting her boyfriend photos to keep him up to speed. Dude hightailed it outta there when the boyfriend showed up, and was arrested at a nearby gas station.

Police later identified the man as 30-year-old Andrew Clyde Swofford, and charged him with misdemeanor breaking and entering.

Maddie and her roommate, meanwhile, are freaked out enough to move out ASAP, now that they don't feel safe in their own home.
