Facebook Messenger now lets you delete sent messages

MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA — CNBC reports that Facebook's Messenger app is now letting users delete texts after they've been sent- finally!

It's a miracle we've managed to live all this time without an unsend feature, but fortunately, those dark days are over!

According to a Facebook press release, users with post-text regret need only tap a message and select "Remove from Everyone." This replaces the message with an notification that it's been removed.

However, you can only do it within 10 minutes of sending.

Wired reports that folks who like decluttering their chats can use the "Remove for You" option to take out certain texts and leave only the ones that spark joy. Fortunately, this one doesn't have a time limit.

Facebook had promised users the feature months ago, after a TechCrunch report revealed Mark Zuckerberg's messages were removed from recipients' inboxes, supposedly for security purposes.

The social media giant says the remove message feature is now available on the latest version of Messenger, both for iOS and Android.

Now if only all the other social media apps can get on the bandwagon.
