4 Tips to Protect Your Skin from Sun Damage

Sun damage can often lead to skin cancer, and skin cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. Sun City Dermatology's Sarah Neumann is sharing four important tips with Holly Morgan to keep your biggest organ healthy and happy.

Tip #1 – Wear protective clothing. Long sleeved golf shirts, golf hats, baseball caps; large water wings, all help prevent sun damage. Water wings? The water wings are in case you land in a water trap! The sunlight reflected off the water can be especially intense!
Tip #2 – Wear sunscreenpreferably SPF 30; and reapply liberally. If you get slapped on the back because you hit a hole-in-one, you don’t want it to hurt because of sunburn!
Tip #3 – Keep HydratedWater+Beer, Water+Beer…or if you are on the Keto Diet; Water +Vodka, Water+Vodka – Seriously, while having a brew at the ballpark, having water in between alcoholic beverages will help keep you hydrated and your skin from drying out from too much fun in the sun. Plus, it will decrease your chances of hangover!
Tip #4 – Be SMART. The LAST best thing you can do to protect the skin you live in is take an UBER/Lyft to and from Spring Training Games. You won’t have to worry about sun damage/skin cancer EVER if you don’t make it home in one piece!
