Bollywood's Hot Actresses Priyanka and Ileana at Saraswati Pooja

Bollywood's evergreen singer, Bappa Lahiri and Ace director, Anurag Basu invited a host of family and friends from the industry to attend the auspicious ceremony of Saraswati Pooja. Vasant Panchami initiates the spring festive cycle and heralds its summation that occurs with Holi. In ancient Indian literature, Vasant Panchami is associated with Shringara Rasam and the festival was celebrated in this tradition. Celebrations today still honor Kamadeva, his wife Rati, and his friend Vasant (the personification of Spring). In modern times, however, Vasant Panchami day is more commonly associated with Maa Saraswati, the goddess of learning, wisdom, knowledge, fine arts, refinement, science and technology. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped and the day is treated by celebrants as Saraswati's birthday. Some of the big names in attendance were Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D'Cruz, Ekta Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Vishal Bharadwaj, Pritam, Asha Bhosle, Alka Yagnik, Sumona Chakravarti, Shibani Kashyap, Rupali Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar. The event was filled with high spirits of enthusiasm and full of devotional songs and performances. Most of the celebs came in their de-glam avatars and looked extremely pleased seeking Goddess Saraswati's blessings. The whole atomosphere seemed to be charged with positivity and radiance. This certainly was a big star studded affair!
