1 Narayana is considered as Alankara Priyar (one who prefers decoration) just like Shiva is Abisheka Priyar (one who prefers purification).

2 In the Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu is represented as a Maharaja with perfect features and wearing exquisite jewellery pieces.

3 Lord Vishnu is believed to be desirous of all kinds of adornment and ornamentation, including musical decorations.

4 The Vaishnavites take strictly honour this fact, which is why the Sri Vigraha (attributes of Lord Vishnu) are shown with a royal parasol and dressed up in different auspicious garments.

5 Both Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi’s representation is usually showcased wearing golden armlets, garlands, bracelets, heavy earrings and striking crown.

6 The Vishnu Devasthalas are mostly enriched structures with long towered halls and also have elaborately carved idols of the gods and goddesses

7 Many temples organize the Alankaram post the Abhishekam, which is a very elaborate ritual of decorating the god
