Millions of dollars are still unaccounted for from the infamous Fyre Festival. Subpoenas were issued to
several celebrities, who all appeared in a promotional video for the festival. Gregory Messner, who is overseeing the bankruptcy case of Fyre Media, is trying to account for $5.2 million of the estimated $26 million in investments from the failed festival. Fyre Festival has gained notoriety in recent weeks with the release of documentaries by Netflix and Hulu. Billy McFarland, Fyre Festival's founder, was sentenced to six years in prison, after pleading guilty to two counts of
wire fraud and making false statements
to federal law enforcement.
