Chinese mega bridge milestone

Sections of decking are being fitted into a huge suspension bridge over the Chishui River in China’s southern province of Guizhou. The pivotal phase of construction got underway on January 27, 2019. The span will connect Guizhou with neighbouring southwestern province of Sichuan and will serve as an important link in a new highway that will shorten travelling time across the provinces from two hours to one. The expressway is scheduled to open by the end of 2019. Construction workers reached the milestone on the massive project ahead of a short break when many will head home for Lunar New Year festivities.
