Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido is pressing forward to form a transition government by naming diplomats to countries that recognize him as interim president.
The country's National Assembly, which is also headed by Guaido, approved nearly a dozen new mission chiefs.
U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence was scheduled to meet with the new envoy to Washington, Carlos Vecchio, on Tuesday.
