The main opposition Liberty Korea Party is boycotting all parliamentary activities..., in protest against President Moon Jae-in's appointment of Cho Hai-ju ... as the head of the National Election Commission.
Cho's appointment came on Thursday,... after opposition parties refused to hold a parliamentary confirmation hearing because of Cho's past experience of working in President Moon's election campaign.
Opposition parties strongly criticized the move,.... with the Liberty Korea Party announcing a boycott of the entire parliamentary schedule set for next month.
The centrist Bareunmirae party also said.... such a decision destructs the nation's constitution.
The two parties are planning to take the case to the prosecutors' office on Friday.... and sue four people, including Cho.... and the secretary general of the ruling party, on charges of obstruction of justice.
