Lingaa is a 2014 Tamil Movie. Lingaa Tamil Movie stars Superstar Rajinikanth, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. Lingaa Movie stars Rajinikanth in double role as granfather and grandson. Lingaa Full Movie marked the debut of Sonakshi Sinha in Tamil Cinema. Lingaa songs are composed by AR Rahman. Linaga Movie was directed by KS Ravikumar, who united with Rajinikanth after Padayappa in 1999. Lingaa is Rajinikanth's second film in 2014 after Kochadaiyaan.

Lingaa movie stars Rajinikanth as a petty thief. Rajinikanth works along with Santhanam committing robberies. Rajinikanth's grandfather (also played by Rajinikanth) was the king of a village called Solaiyur under the British Rule. The people of Solaiyur want Rajinikanth to come back to the village to perform a special Pooja. Since Rajinikanth is angry with his grandfather for squandering away the family fortune, he is unwilling to go to Solaiyur. However circumstances force Rajinikanth to go to Solaiyur. Rajinikanth learns that his grandfather was a generous man who used all his money to build a dam for the village. When the dam comes under danger, Rajinikanth decides to keep his grandfather's Dam safe.

Sonakshi Sinha made her debut in Tamil Movies with Lingaa. Sonakshi Sinha was paired with Rajinikanth in the flashback sequences. Sonakshi Sinha's character was that of an educated progressive woman in the 1930s. Anushka Shetty was paired with Rajinikanth for the first time. Anushka Shetty played the role of a reporter in the film. Lingaa songs composed by AR Rahman became chartbusters. Songs like Indiane Vaa and Mona Gasolina were highly appreciated.
