Two Stephjoy students killed in dormitory fire [ News Bulletin]

Two students were killed and one sustained severe burns when a school dormitory caught fire at the Stephjoy Boys boarding school in Kiambu.
The fire follows the closure of Stephjoy Girls after the students set fire to their school in opposition to morning devotion according to school board Chairman David Gitehi.
Seven other students have been treated for shock at the Tigoni District Hospital and one of them is George Njenga who has told Capital Newsbeat that the fire started after 11pm on Sunday.
And while police are yet to conclude forensic examinations in their effort to ascertain the cause of the fire, Kiambu Women’s representative Anne Nyokabi says it was a petrol bomb.
The school board chair says 11 students were taken in by police for questioning and has defended the school against Nyokabi’s accusations that the school was inadequately prepared for a fire.
