Obama's Africa trip to highlight growth, democracy

As President Barack Obama prepares for only his third official African visit, Johnnie Carson, the former assistant secretary of State for African affairs, insists the US is not "in competition" with China, which has been more shrewd in its engagement on the continent, and says the trip will focus on democracy and economic growth.
