रूस (Russia) से क्रीमिया को अलग करने वाले केर्च जलडमरूमध्य (Kerch Strait) में दो जहाजों में आग लगने से कम से कम 11 लोगों की मौत हो गई। मीडिया में मंगलवार को आई खबरों के मुताबिक इन पोतों के चालक दल के सदस्यों में भारत, तुर्की एवं लीबिया के नागरिक थे।

यह आग रूसी सीमा के जलक्षेत्र के पास सोमवार को लगी थी। दोनों पोतों पर तंजानिया के ध्वज लहरा रहे थे। इनमें से एक तरलीकृत प्राकृतिक गैस लेकर जा रहा था जबकि दूसरा टैंकर था। यह आग तब लगी जब दोनों पोत एक-दूसरे से ईंधन स्थानांतरित कर रहे थे।
