World’s oldest man dies aged 113

Masazo Nonaka, the world’s oldest man, died at age 113 in his home in Japan on January 20, 2019. Nonaka was declared the oldest man alive by the Guinness World Records in 2018. Among a small group of supercentenarians, those who reach age 110, he experienced two world wars and many significant events in his homeland including the first Olympic Games in Asia, in Tokyo in 1964. Nonaka outlived all seven of his siblings, his wife and two of his five children before dying of natural causes.
