DMK Stalin forms 6-Member Committee for Alliance Talks; Committee to be headed by Durai Murugan
  • 5 years ago
After West Bengal, the poll focus seems to have shifted to Tamil Nadu. It all started with MK Stalin, who has taken a small u-turn as pitching Rahul Gandhi as his 2019 Prime Minister candidate, but claiming that he spoke on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu. As this is happening our sister newspaper has learnt that Chidambaram's eagerness to push Karti's prospects in his bastion Sivaganga constituency may lead to Congress settling for 6 seats in the state, as the former finance minister is turning into congress' main negotiator for the alliance deal.. This as Prime Minister Modi, who has clearly said that his party is ready for an alliance in the state is going to visit Tamil Nadu with senior BJP leaders in a major poll blitz ahead of the 2019 elections. His alliance prospect EPS is conducting a host of meetings to fix AIADMK's alliance plans for the polls.
