President Trump has signed a bill ensuring back pay for federal workers impacted by the shutdown.

The White House announced Wednesday that President Trump has signed a bill ensuring back pay for federal workers impacted by the partial government shutdown.
A White House statement noted about the bill: "S. 24, the 'Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019,' which requires the compensation of government employees for wages lost, work performed, or leave used during a lapse in appropriations that begins on or after December 22, 2018, and entitles excepted employees to use leave during a lapse in appropriations."
"The workers will be paid after the shutdown is over," CNN noted.
The shutdown, now the longest in U.S. history, began after lawmakers failed to agree on Trump's demand for border wall funding.
Trump has since posted multiple tweets on the matter, blaming Democrats.
"Nancy and Cryin' Chuck can end the Shutdown in 15 minutes. At this point it has become their, and the Democrats, fault!" he wrote Monday.
