Volkswagen Announces Plans To Build Electric Vehicle In Tennessee

Reuters reports that Volkswagen announced on Monday they will be investing $800 million to build a new electric vehicle in the U.S. The German automaker made the announcement at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show, saying manufacturing of the vehicle would take place at the company's current Chattanooga, Tennessee plant. The auto manufacturer said in an announcement it will be adding 1,000 new jobs and that production of the electric vehicle will begin in 2022.
