I sold my son to ISIS
Faisal struggled to support his family of 10 on a labourer’s salary of about US$8 a day. When two men offered him US$1,000 to allow his son and nephew to study at a boarding school in the Islamic city of Marawi in the southern Philippines, Faisal believed his prayers were being answered. Little did he know the men were actually recruiting children to be trained by fighters loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, better known as ISIS.
