Clemency by Tennessee Governor Commuting Brown's
life sentence for murder
means she's now eligible
for parole on August 7. A victim of child trafficking,
Brown committed the
crime in 2006 at the age of 16. She was tried and
convicted as an adult
for first-degree murder. Commuting her
sentence is one of
Bill Haslam's last acts
as Tennessee Governor. In doing so, he overrules
a decision by the Tennessee
Supreme Court that Brown remain
