Golden Globes 2019: Bohemian Rhapsody & Green Book score big

Bohemian Rhapsody, directed by Bryan Singer and Dexter Fletcher, won the best drama film at the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards.

The Freddie Mercury biopic bagged the award despite fierce competition from Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born, which was widely expected to become the ceremony’s biggest winner.

Nicole Kidman announced the name of the film taking home two top prizes — best drama film and best actor for Rami Malek, who plays Queen front man Freddie Mercury.

Other winners included the Peter Farrelly comedy drama Green Book.

Actor Olivia Colman won best actress (comedy) for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite.
